Digital Aerial Imaging

Digital Aerial Imaging - Uses in Real Estate and Urban Planning

Geographic Information System (GIS) software has been in use by builders and urban planners for several years, but its usefulness is limited by the availability of low-cost geo-referenced and rectified images. Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are now reaching a level of affordability and accuracy such that their use in the field is more common, but usefulness is still limited by the availability of geo-referenced, current images.

The integration of GIS and GPS in the fields of real estate and urban planning will allow insights into land planning that havent been imagined as yet. Think of the possibilities: timely data obtained affordably that is accurate to within a meter, available from the most remote locations imaginable.

With recent aerial images, builders can determine the quality and quantity of available open land. Acreage measurements can be quickly obtained, and distances from schools and utilities can be easily measured. Surveyor information about property boundaries and easements can be overlain onto aerial images using a GIS program. Information from natural resource consultants about wetlands and other sensitive natural features can be added to determine acreages and locations of buildable upland.

With todays tight budgets and increasing time demands, consider using technology to your advantage. GPS technology integrated with digital aerial imaging, desktop mapping software, and pre-existing data sets can assist in decision making.

The knowledgeable technical staff at GPS Innovations is ready to introduce you to the technology, advise you on an application program, and show you how to remain competitive in todays marketplace.

Think of the Possibilities

What if you could have digital image data affordably and when it was needed - not in 3 to 4 months?

What if field locations could be transferred quickly and accurately to aerial images that were less than a week old?

What if your imagery could clearly depict objects as small as 0.5 meter?

What if your data was geo-referenced to provide very accurate acreage measurements and distance calculations?

Imagine the results that might be produced for those time critical decisions.
